Blue launches “WeMedi Group Medical Protector”

Allowing SMEs to take care of employees’ medical needs with annual premium as low as HK$200

(Hong Kong, 27 April 2022) Blue, the first digital life insurer in Hong Kong, announces today the launch of its “WeMedi Group Medical Protector” (the “Plan”), a group medical insurance plan designed to provide SMEs an affordable option of medical care for employees. With an annual premium as low as HK$200 per employee[1], insured employee can access over 700 designated network doctors and receive 8 types of outpatient services with up to 70% off for unlimited times per policy year[2].

Additional Hospital Cash Benefit

“WeMedi Group Medical Protector” is available to companies with a minimum of three employees, and no medical underwriting is required. The Plan offers two levels of benefits – Entry and Standard, to give businesses the choice of selecting the plan best-suited to meet their employees’ needs. Members of the Standard Plan can enjoy an additional Hospital Cash Benefit[3], where insured employees admitted into a private or public hospital can receive a daily cash amount of HK$500, covering a maximum of 182 days per policy year, to reduce their financial burdens during hospitalisation.

Remarks: [1] HK$200 is the annual premium per employee based on the calculation for 3 full-time employees who are male aged 18, being entitled to the entry plan. The premium is for reference only and determined by the age and gender of the Life Assured, the selection of benefits and its corresponding plan levels at policy commencement and at the time of renewal upon each anniversary date of the policy. [2] Except for dental coverage. Life Assured can enjoy the preferential consultation charge at designated outpatient services for an unlimited number of times per policy year, but only one visit per day for each category of outpatient services. While for dental coverage, Life Assured can enjoy one visit per policy year. [3] Applicable to the confinement in hospitals in Hong Kong only. Max. 10 days per confinement.
